Na njemu je sudjelovalo samo sedam sporta\u0161a, ali iz \u010dak \u0161est razli\u010ditih zemalja. O elementarnosti ovog sporta govori i \u010dinjenica da je bio me\u0111u rijetkim izabranim da sudjeluje u Olimpijskim igrama od samog po\u010detka ili od 1896. godine, kada su se odigrale prve moderne ljetne igre u Atini. Zanimljivo, trebalo je pro\u0107i vi\u0161e od sto godina, od prvog pojavljivanja olimpijskih disciplina u dizanju utega za \u017eene.
